Micro-teaching Lesson Plan
Lesson Plan: House and Furniture
Level: A2 (3rd semester-ESL learners)
Duration: 15 minutes
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to name basic furniture and describe its location using prepositions of place.
Materials: board, slideshow presentation, marker
Warm-up (2 minutes)
Quick Picture Prompt:
- Show a picture of a room (living room or bedroom).
- Ask: “What can you see?”
- Students briefly name any furniture they recognize.
Vocabulary Presentation (5 minutes)
Introduce Furniture Vocabulary:
- Show 5-6 essential furniture items (sofa, bed, chair, table, lamp).
- Say each word, and students repeat for pronunciation.
- Ask: “Which room do you find this item in?”
Controlled Practice (5 minutes)
Prepositions of Place with Pictures:
- Show a picture of a room and describe an object’s location using prepositions of place (next to, on, in front of).
(example: The lamp is next to the sofa.)
- Ask students: “Where is the lamp?”
- Students answer using prepositions.
Extented Practice (2 minutes)
Describe a Room:
- Show two pictures rooms. Students describe the rooms by naming 2-3 items and their location.
(example: The bed is next to the window.)
Wrap-up (1 minute)
- Review 3 key furniture words and 2 prepositions used during class.
